DOUBLE World Champion Mark Williams recently paid a visit to the Oldham Snooker Academy in Chadderton — and nearly came a cropper.
The Welsh star only narrowly defeated local man Mick Dickinson, who had qualified to take on Williams by winning a senior competition, on a re-spotted black in the exhibition event.
Also playing against the 34-year-old on the well-attended night were 12-year-old Paul Clynes, winner of the junior competition, England under-19s star Kamran Ashraf and three local lads Sajid Zumarad, Sundor Ali and Abu Miah.
