Confident win for Aces
Date published: 21 July 2009
Belle Vue Aces took all four league points with a 49–41 victory over five-man Eastbourne.
The Eagles’ England international Lewis Bridger had declared himself unfit for the match but rode for his Polish League team earlier in the day and that deprived Eastbourne of the chance to have a guest to take his place.
For Belle Vue, World Cup winner Kris Kasprzak (12) and James Wright (9) secured a final heat win to take the bonus point.
Aussie Davey Watt (14) was outstanding for the Eagles.
Next Monday Aces bid to protect a five-point lead when they entertain Poole in the second leg of the Knockout Cup semi-final.
