LOCAL snooker star Michael Wild (pictured) will play for England in the Home Internationals at Pontins, Prestatyn, this weekend.
The Moorside break-builder, who competes in the Pontins International Open Series, is one of the country’s top amateurs and will be well equipped to handle the pressure of the best-of-three-frames matches.
Wild is one of seven players to be picked for the England team to take on Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland, the Republic of Ireland, Jersey, Guernsey and Dubai in the round-robin tournament which starts tomorrow and continues until Tuesday.
Wild, who practices at home and at the Oldham Snooker Academy in Chadderton, has been selected to play for England on four occasions and will be hoping to justify his new sponsorship from Per-fit Windows of Heywood.
