Ellis in last eight

Nimble Nook’s Gary Ellis booked his place in the last eight of the Waterloo in Blackpool after a 21-16 win over Dean Ferris (Stoke).

Ferris had earlier put out another Nimble Nook ace, Andy Buckley, winning 21-14, while Ellis was beating Sheffield’s Ryan Clark 21-17.

Other bowlers well known on the local circuit - Andy Cairns, Graeme Wilson and Jimmy Derby – also made it to the quarter-finals.
