Manchester Phoenix stretched their unbeaten run to four matches with hard fought wins over Sheffield Scimitars and Peterborough Phantoms.
Player-coach Tony Hand was man-of-the-match in his side’s 6-4 win at home to the Scims on Saturday while Jaakko Hagelberg bagged a brace to secure a 5-3 win at the Phantoms last night.
On Saturday, the veteran pairing of Ed Courtenay and Hand scored twice in the final minute to secure a superb victory.
Sunday’s win at Peterborough was fuelled by a Hagelberg double. Goals from Bowie, Courtenay and a late empty-netter from Wood gave Manchester another four-point weekend.
