Kenway’s winning return

MICK KENWAY made a successful return to the oche as Oldham’s darts team continued their quest for Lancashire GMC Super Eights glory.
Kenway, playing his first match since undergoing heart surgery earlier in the year, won 4-1in the town’s impressive 8-2 defeat of St Helens.
He was called into the team in the absence of four regulars and proved he has lost none of his skills by averaging 71.21.
Dave Yates was man-of-the-match, averaging a superb 88.19 in his 4-2 victory.
Dave Rawstron recorded two 180s in his 4-0 victory (76.43), and there was also a maximum from Mick Rawes, who won 4-3 (71.45).
Gary Jackson also hit 180 in a 4-0 success (72.1), with the other wins coming from Geoff Tucker (4-1, 68.51), Ian Walters (4-0, 68.72) and John Moreton (4-2, 70.59).
Oldham, the leaders, welcome title rivals Bury to the Flowerpot on Sunday (12.30pm), with father and son Stuart and Lee Holden, Lee Williams and Scott Morris available again for selection.
