Phoenix on the rise – Bowie

IAIN BOWIE believes it can only get better for Manchester Phoenix now they have hit the top of ice hockey’s English Premier League.
The Scottish forward says he expects his team-mates to really kick on as they continue to gel.
“I have really enjoyed it so far,” Bowie said, “And I am hoping for a lot more. We are starting to play well as a team and I am really happy with the way we are coming along.”
Bowie has scored 11 goals so far this season and was a hat-trick hero in Phoenix’ 8-3 win over Bracknell Bees last Saturday.
It’s an unexpected return from the 19-year-old, who moved from the Edinburgh Capitals to gain extra ice time and experience.
“I’m hoping for a whole lot more.” he continued. “The quality of the league has surprised me a little, but as long as we continue to work hard we should be fine.
“I didn’t expect to be playing on the top line with Tony Hand and Ed Courtenay, but I am delighted to have proven to the coach that I am worthy of that position.”
