ICE HOCKEY: Ed Courtenay pushed his personal points tally to beyond 50 as he powered Manchester Phoenix to a winning double.
The 41-year-old veteran scored a hat-trick and two assists in his side’s 7-4 win over Swindon Wildcats on Saturday before adding another treble and an assist in a 6-4 victory at home to Basingstoke Bison last night.
Adam Walker also collected three goals over the two games as Manchester remained on top of the English Premier League.
Andre Mattson, Jaakko Hagelberg and Andre Payette were also on target against Swindon in a match marred by a shoulder injury to netminder Steven Fone.
With inexperienced 19-year-old Adam Summerfield in goal yesterday, Manchester played a more defensive game but Courtenay (3), Walker (2) and Hagelberg secured victory.
