BOXING: OLDHAM Boxing and Personal Development Centre’s Robbie Connor cruised through the national quarter-finals of the Senior Novice Championships.
Fighting in the Class A 75kg category he again showed his full range of skills to out-class a durable opponent in Richard Bitner from Halifax Police.
Connor weighed up his opponent in the first round and then went about systematically taking the Yorkshire man apart, forcing him to take a standing eight count in the second.
Connor remained in full control, despite a late rally from Bitner, to book his place in the last four in which he will face tough Liverpudlian Liam Jenkins this Sunday.
