Fergie settles for a point
Date published: 11 January 2010
MANCHESTER United boss Sir Alex Ferguson was satisfied with a share of the spoils from the game at Birmingham City — but hit out at referee Mark Clattenburg over the late dismissal of Darren Fletcher.
United trailed at half–time to a Cameron Jerome goal despite dominating proceedings and needed a controversial own goal from Scott Dann to earn a 1-1 draw.
But Ferguson was unhappy with Clattenburg’s decision to send off Fletcher for a second bookable offence after a challenge on Jerome.
Jerome took advantage of defensive hesitancy to put Blues in front shortly before the interval.
