NORTHERN Thunder moved level on points with Hertfordshire Mavericks in the Co-operative Netball Superleague table thanks to their 45-38 victory at Bury.
Tips, trips and turnover ball made for a competitive clash between the third and fourth-placed teams in Superleague.
Thunder led by a single point after the first quarter and it was 26-22 for them at half-time with player of the match Jade Clarke bossing the centre of the court.

In the third period, Thunder used speed and patience to move eight goals up and it was an advantage they maintained until the final whistle to move alongside their rivals with a game in hand.
Clarke and Sara Bayman are looking sharp ahead of the international series with Australia and the former said: “Everyone performed today. Mavericks are known as the comeback team, but we didn’t let them.”
TEAM Bath consolidated second place in the Superleague table with a two-goal victory over a strong-finishing Thunder side the following day.
Bath held the upper hand throughout the game, but Thunder reduced the arrears to 40-39 only to lose their momentum near the end.
Thunder’s assistant coach Suzy Chapman said: “The team gave a fantastic performance.
“We carried our determination and passion from yesterday’s game through to today. The result shows we can compete against the best.”
