City in the mood to hit back

Vincent Kompany is confident Manchester City will bounce back to form by beating Wigan at Eastlands tonight.

City have produced a positive response to setbacks this season — most recently when they followed their dismal FA Cup exit at Stoke by beating Chelsea away.

This time they are hoping to make amends for losing their unbeaten home record to Everton.

City are in the happy position of knowing a victorious end to the season would see them claim a prized Champions League berth for the first time.

The major factor behind that situation is Tottenham's visit to Eastlands on May 5, the penultimate game of the season.

But Spurs still have to tackle Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United.

For their part, City must face Arsenal, United and Aston Villa.

Liverpool have an easier run of games, but even they still have to entertain Chelsea.
