Citizens out to hammer another nail in Burnley coffin
Date published: 02 April 2010
MANCHESTER City’s quest for fourth spot in the Premier League and a place in next season’s Champions League takes them to Burnley tomorrow.
Despite their position in the Premiership, Burnley are normally a tough proposition on home soil and have already caused City problems this season.
Second-from-bottom Burnley need an inspirational run-in if they are to avoid an instant drop to the Championship following last season’s promotion under Coyle.
But if City are to keep the pressure on fourth-placed Tottenham - who go to Sunderland tomorrow - then Roberto Mancini’s team need to keep finding the back of the net, just as they did when Carlos Tevez scored a second-half hat-trick in Monday’s 3-0 defeat of Wigan at Eastlands.
