Mancini hits back at Tevez outburst

ROBERTO Mancini has admitted he would let Carlos Tevez leave Manchester City this summer if the South American did not want to stay.

Though he has become a cult hero since joining City from rivals United in the summer, Tevez has shown increasing signs of disapproval with Mancini’s regime.

In a recent interview, Tevez expressed unhappiness at the number of double training sessions Mancini incorporates into the week’s work and questioned City’s controversial decision to sack Mark Hughes in December.

With Real Madrid said to be interested in signing the South American, it looks increasingly likely his stay with City will be brief, especially as Mancini is intent on remaining at the club and has no interest in keeping an unhappy player.

Mancini has spoken to Tevez about the training situation but refused to reveal details.

But he insisted it was normal practice and the best way for City to reach their objective of Champions League status.

Meanwhile, Mancini must decide whether to place his trust in Marton Fulop or Gunnar Nielsen to keep goal for Manchester City in their top–four duel with Villa.

Shay Given is out after dislocating his shoulder at Arsenal last week, so Mancini must pick between the Hungarian, signed on emergency loan, or the Faroe Islands international.
