Fourth place is no big deal-breaker

ROBERTO Mancini has warned potential transfer targets they would be making “a big mistake” if they turn their back on Manchester City just because they fail to finish in the top four.
City entertain Tottenham tonight knowing victory would leave them in need of a win in their final match at West Ham on Sunday to seal a place in next season's Champions League.
But the Blues are also aware defeat would consign them to the Europa League and leave them waiting a little longer to join Europe’s top table. Such an outcome might end up costing Mancini his job.
But the Italian is so certain about City's progress that he does not feel anyone should be put off from joining the blue revolution purely because they would have to wait another 12 months to experience Carlos Tevez hopes both he and Mancini are still at City next season.
The 26–year–old recently criticised the Italian’s training methods and has been linked with a move to Real Madrid, but has come out in support of Mancini.
“Of course I would really like him to continue here,” Tevez said. “I would like all of us to stay and continue with this ambitious project which we have started,” he said.
