Foster poised to seal switch

FOOTBALL:
BEN Foster was expected to complete a £6million move from Manchester United to Birmingham today.
A fee was agreed between the two clubs last week and Foster was due in the Midlands for a medical that to seal his Old Trafford exit.
Though he began last term with high hopes of ousting Edwin van der Sar from his status as United’s first–choice ’keeper, Foster’s chance disappeared with high–profile mistakes against Manchester City and Sunderland during a two–month period at the start of the campaign when the veteran Dutchman was missing through injury.
As Birmingham needed a ’keeper once Joe Hart returned to Manchester City following his season–long loan, Blues chief Alex McLeish wasted no time in stepping in to make Foster his first signing of the summer.
United’s London–based commercial team has broken the £200million barrier after announcing its latest sponsorship deal.
Leading South American producer and wine exporter Concha y Toro has been confirmed as United’s official wine partner.
United’s commercial arm has completed 20 deals raking in over £200million — with the prospect of more to come.
