SPORTS BETTING:

YOU simply have to give credit to Jose Mourinho. He may be arrogant, but he is never dull and is certainly justified in calling himself special.

The Inter Milan boss masterminded Porto to Champions League triumph in 2004 before enjoying tremendous success at Chelsea.

And, since leaving Stamford Bridge, he has transformed Inter from European also-rans to a major power on the continent.

Jose’s Inter side take on Bayern Munich in Saturday’s Champions League final and, following their defeat of mighty Barcelona in the semis, I can’t see them failing now.

Inter are 4-7 to lift the trophy, while Bayern – conquerors of Manchester United in the last eight – are 6-4.

You will get 5-4 for your money on Inter in 90 minutes, with Bayern 23-10 and the draw 9-4.

LEE Westwood is back on English soil following near misses in two huge golf tournaments in America.

The world number three from Worksop, so close to victory in the Masters and Players Championship, is joint favourite with Northern Ireland’s Rory McIlroy for the BMW PGA event which gets under way at Wentworth tomorrow.

The flagship tournament of the European Tour, it has attracted a crackerjack field and any number of potential winners.

You can certainly make a case out for the two market leaders, along with Ernie Els – who practically lives on the course – and Paul Casey, a player boasting a great record at Wentworth.

But in the search for a little more value, I have plumped for Francesco Molinari.

The Italian has been in superb form in Europe and America and if his putting can match his long game he has the tools to win at any level. His current price of 33-1 is very fair.

OFF Course pulled off a coup when England justified our selection of them at 10-1 to win the ICC Twenty20 World Cup in the Caribbean.

It remains to be seen whether they can continue their resurgence into the 50-over arena, but I see no reason why not and they are rightly down to 6-1 to win the 2011 World Cup in India, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh.

Australia are favourites at 9-2, with India at 5s and South Africa and Sri Lanka the same price as England.

RECOMMENDATION: Francesco Molinari, each-way, first five, in BMW PGA Championship, 33-1 (general).
