ROYTON’S Jack Kilgannon picked up priceless international experience when he won a bout in Poland.
He beat G Yoworsy over three rounds at a show in Toran, picking up the best boxer award in the process.
Kilgannon (14) started brightly, using a stiff jab and keeping his opponent on the back foot by switching the attack from body to head.
Round two saw Kilgannon unload a crisp combination which forced an eight count.
Yoworsy had no option but to go for it in the final round but he left himself open.
Kilgannon landed a straight right to the head before following up with two-handed attacks.
Coach Ben Lancaster was delighted to see his young charge win, and said: “This is the highlight of Jack’s career so far.
“It was a great performance considering it was his first international experience.
“I’m sure we will see a lot more of him.”
