BOXING:
THOMAS Stubbs crashed out of the European Championships in Moscow in an 8-1 quarter-final defeat to Ireland’s Paddy Barnes.
Northside ABC star Stubbs (20), fighting for Great Britain’s 12-man team, would have been guaranteed a shot at a medal if he’d won.
Thomas’s step-father, Wayne Morris, said: “He sent us a text saying he was gutted, but the coaches were still pleased with the way he boxed.”
