Connor sets course record

GOLF: RACHEL Connor finished tied 18th in the Tate and Lyle Players Championship at the Hickory Point Golf Club, Illinois.
Connor (19) carded an opening round of nine-under-par 61, a new course record.
The former Our Lady’s pupil led by four shots after 18 holes, but slipped back after rounds of 73, 71 and 71 for a four-under-par total of 276, 15 shots behind winner Jennifer Song.
