WELSH wizard Joe Longley is ready to mix it with the best of them at the World Lacrosse Championships in Manchester.
Diggle-based Joe (19) is part of Wales’ senior men squad for the eagerly-anticipated event, which runs from July 10-24.
Wales are in the grey division alongside Holland, Argentina and Austria — away from top seeds USA, Canada, England and Japan, who make up the blue division.
Dad Brian said: “The whole squad is buzzing because they have come on leaps and bounds of late, performing well against some tough teams.
“Joe qualifies for Wales through the nationality of his grandparents.
“He has been playing field lacrosse since he was nine years old, he just loves the sport.
“We’d like to thank friends and
family for their ongoing support for Joe, it really does make a big difference to him.”
