CRICKET: LANCASHIRE held on for a draw in their LV=County Championship Roses clash against Yorkshire at Old Trafford — but they couldn’t prevent the Tykes going top of division one.
Yorkshire captain Jacques Rudolph set the hosts 305 to win from 68 overs after declaring his second innings on 215 for seven.
And, even though the target was an achievable one for the Red Rose, Lancs closed on 192 for seven from 63.4 overs. Steven Croft finished unbeaten on 85, with Kyle Hogg four not out.
Emphatic win for over-50s
LANCASHIRE over-50s have qualified for the knock-out stages of the National Cup after beating Northumberland by eight wickets at Warkworth CC.
Chris Dearden took two for 34 as the hosts were restricted to 205 for seven from their 45 overs.
And Mike Ingham (81 not out) and Glenn Bullock (70) were the main contributors as Lancashire raced to 206 for two off 35 overs.
Lancashire’s next group match, which is purely academic, is against Cumbria at Formby CC on July 14.
