BELLE Vue took a welcome break from league action to beat high-flying Poole 50-40 in the first leg of the Knockout Cup.
Some of the best racing of the season brought out a strong all round performance for the Aces.
Hans Andersen top scored with 12, while Ulrich Ostergaard, in his second spell with Belle Vue, weighed in with 10+2 and young Australian Josh Grajczonek (9+3) produced his best performance.
Aces were missing Stockport based James Wright, who fell heavily at a meeting in Poland.
