NETBALL:
NORTHERN Thunder players swapped their netball dresses for running shorts to take part in Oldham’s seventh annual Race for Life.
Captain Karen Greig from the Superleague side completed the 5km charity challenge in Alexandra Park along with team-mates Rachel Henry and Kerry Almond.
They were joined by mascot Thunder Bear, who crossed the line in a respectable 40 minutes.
Nearly 2,000 women took part in Sunday’s event in aid of Cancer Research UK, with the Northern Thunder girls raising around £300 so far.
