Silva set for bit part in City opener
Date published: 13 August 2010
DAVID Silva is likely to be handed nothing more than a cameo role in Manchester City’s Premier League opener at Tottenham Hotspur tomorrow lunchtime.
The winger lacks match sharpness after an extended post-World Cup break.
Carlos Tevez is also playing catch-up and may have to settle for a place on the substitutes’ bench.
New signings Jerome Boateng, Aleksander Kolarov and Yaya Toure are expected to feature.
MICHAEL Carrick’s surprise recovery from an ankle knock puts him in contention for a place in Manchester United’s side to face promoted Newcastle at Old Trafford on Monday night.
