The Manchester City kit manager and former Athletic star writes for the Chronicle.
ENGLAND put in a fine performance in the 4-0 victory over Bulgaria.
I was delighted to see Adam Johnson come on and score his first goal for the national side.
Joe Hart also had another good game, pulling off a couple of important saves, one of which was directly before an England breakaway goal.
He has become England number one, City number one and is playing with confidence.
He is a down-to-earth lad so it is nice to see. Overall it was a convincing England victory.
I WAS happy to hear about Paul Dickov’s return to playing duties for Oldham Athletic against Bristol Rovers.
I was a player-manager myself a couple of times and I must say, I found the role easier when I was on the pitch. I was able to convey my message more successfully.
Dicky still has that amazing enthusiasm for the game. I really hope he does well at Athletic.
