The Manchester City kit manager and former Latics star writes for Chron Sport.
THAT man Carlos Tevez strikes again. He scored a fantastic winner for Manchester City in the 1-0 win over Chelsea at Eastlands.
He is proving to be not just a ‘big game player’, but an ‘every game player’!
Carlos is held in such high regard by everyone at the club for having such an awesome attitude.
We speculated last month about what sort of impact the captaincy would have on his performances — I believe it has inspired him.
To be fair I thought Chelsea were in the ascendancy in the first half. They looked a very strong team. I’m not saying we were fortunate to go in level at the break, but the visitors certainly had more possession.
But in the second half we came out and mixed it, matching Chelsea physically.
For a 15 or 20-minute spell our players were like rats, swarming their midfield. It makes such a difference having a player like Nigel De Jong in the middle of the park, who is brave and puts his foot in.
We have beaten Chelsea in the past by playing pretty stuff, but it was nice to see us bully them, in the right way.
EUROPEAN football returns this week and I think the Champions League is going to be intriguing this season.
Barcelona are one of the favourites, and I am sure they will be there or thereabouts at the end.
But I think Real Madrid have a great chance this time under the guidance of Jose Mourinho. They are also long overdue success in the competition.
Whatever happens, I hope two great footballing teams make it to the final.
