THOMAS STUBBS: Commonwealth Games hope
BOXING: CHADDERTON boxer Thomas Stubbs has made a dramatic late switch in the Commonwealth Games which get under way on Monday.
The 20-year-old Northside star, a three-time ABA champion, was struggling to make the weight for the 49kg division.
And, following the withdrawal from the squad of the injured Khalid Yafai, Stubbs has moved up a weight to the 52kg section.
One of 12 boxers in the England team, Stubbs has been training and acclimatising in Thailand and will fly to Delhi on Sunday, when the opening ceremony takes place.
