AT THE DOUBLE . . . Louise Howard.
HOCKEY: LEADERS Oldham firsts swept aside City of Manchester 5-0 to maintain their unbeaten record in Division One of the Greater Manchester Women’s Hockey League.
Karen Rowley set the ball rolling with a blistering shot, before Louise Howard added two more to cap a dominant first-half display.
City of Manchester were better after the break, but were kept in check by player-of-the-match Lesley Beddow.
Oona Cassidy made it four, converting a lovely cross from Howard, before Rowley wrapped things up with another screamer.
Meanwhile, Oldham’s second team were beaten 3-0 by Manto of Bolton, and are now in a battle to beat the drop.
