NOTTS County made life difficult for Manchester City in the first 20 minutes of our FA Cup fourth-round replay, before the Blues eventually ran out 5-0 winners.
The visitors hit the inside of the post and produced a lively performance.
But after Patrick Vieira’s two headed goals there was only going to be one winner — despite a couple of injuries which saw Patrick’s head bandaged up and Mario Balotelli withdrawn with concussion.
It was nice to score from set-pieces, particularly corners, because we haven’t done that enough this season.
Aleksandar Kolarov has a wonderful left foot. In training his free-kicks are frighteningly good, which is a useful weapon to have.
If we beat Aston Villa in the fifth round we will host Everton or Reading in the quarter-final.
Obviously if we do end up playing David Moyes’ men, we will have to be on top of our game because Everton our are bogey side.
The Toffees have a tremendous record at Eastlands, as does their midfielder Tim Cahill.
We are back in Europa Cup action on Thursday, when Aris are the visitors for the second-leg of our last 32 tie.
It was 0-0 in the first leg. Hopefully we can finish off the job at Eastlands, which will earn a tie against the winners of Dynamo Kiev and Beskitas.
