MANCHESTER City are going to Wembley. Our 1-0 victory over Reading at Eastlands set up an FA Cup semi-final meeting with Manchester United at the home of football in April.
I am buzzing, because it is the first time I have got this far in the competition with one of my clubs.
I have always wanted to reach an FA Cup final, and now we are 90 minutes away — unless it goes to extra-time and penalties!
The semi-final draw was made just before the Reading game kicked off, and I watched it in the tunnel while the players warmed up.
It had an air of inevitability about it — I don’t think any other ball was going to come out.
What a fantastic occasion for the supporters to look forward to.
I believe we have a great chance of winning the semi-final. Obviously it is essential that everyone avoids injury and suspension.
We are not performing at our best just now, but hopefully by then we will be firing on all cylinders.
As you would expect, the lads are looking forward to the tie. It is fair to say, they were more elated than ever after beating the Royals, courtesy of a Micah Richards header.
I was delighted to see Micah score such a good goal, and it was nice for him win the club’s official player-of-the-month award.
He has played so well of late, so he deserves all the accolades that come his way.
I was speaking to Micah after the match and we both agreed there is something extra special about scoring from a header.
It is an emphatic way to put the ball in the net and something we haven’t done enough this season.
Bolton face Stoke in the other semi-final so, regardless of the outcome in our tie, it looks like the competition is on course for an all-North-West final, which is good news for this region.
