Play-off agony as Rachel misses out

GOLF: RACHEL Connor just missed out on a second victory in the Suncoast Ladies Series.

The 20-year-old, from Royton, lost in a play-off on the first extra hole at Stoneybrook East in Orlando, Florida.

She had tied for top spot on 10-under-par with Maria Hjorth, who is sixth on the LPGA Tour money list.

But a birdie from Hjorth to Connor’s par clinched victory for the experienced Swedish player.
