TWO talented fighters came away from the British Junior Thai Boxing Championships in Birmingham with medals.
Jade Bradbury and Jodie-Lea Roberts, of Higginshaw Thai Boxing Club, earned praise from coaches Danny Tomlin, Dave Taylor and Taz Tariq after a fantastic showing.
Jade (11) won the British title in the 35-40kg category. The Saddleworth School pupil navigated her way through two tough bouts before clinching gold.
And 14-year-old Jodie-Lea claimed bronze in the 45-50kg group, despite only having been involved in the sport for 12 months.
Joel Tomlin (14) also competed and, despite missing out on a medal, he produced an encouraging display.
Tomlin said: “They deserve a lot of credit for what they have done.
“They always train extremely hard and show dedication to the sport.
“We are delighted to see them do so well.”
