Mancini expects quick Toure recovery

Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini played down injury fears surrounding Yaya Toure following the 2–1 friendly win over the Vancouver Whitecaps.

Toure turned his ankle towards the end of the first half and it quickly became apparent that the Ivorian would not be able to continue.

He had to be helped back to the City dressing room and played no further part in the game.

The injury initially looked serious, but Mancini insisted that the damage was not too bad and he expects his midfield maestro to make a swift return.

"We will have to see but I hope he will have recovered in three or four days," the Italian said.

"He fell over the other player's foot and hurt his ankle, but hopefully he will be alright."

Mancini expects Manchester City to lodge a bid for Atletico Madrid striker Sergio Aguero in the next few days despite Carlos Tevez's exit dragging on.

Post–match discussion soon turned to Carlos Tevez's on–off move to Brazilian outfit Corinthians, who denied having a £40million bid accepted for the 27–year–old.

"The clubs are talking. They only have one number and it does not work at the moment," said Mancini.

But Mancini is clearly planning for life without his skipper, having confirmed a bid is expected to be lodged for Aguero in the next couple of days.
