THE draw for the FA Cup third round paired Manchester City with neighbours United.
The Red Devils will be up for the challenge after losing to the Blues in the same competition’s semi-finals last season. And iIt will be our first clash since the 6-1 win at Old Trafford in October.
We look forward to the match and I am glad it is at the Etihad Stadium. To win trophies you must beat the best teams and hopefully we can get the right result, so United are out of our way early on.
Our 5-1 victory over Norwich helped maintain our five-point lead at the top of the league and once again demonstrated our attacking prowess.
We are scoring goals for fun at the moment. There are no easy games but we never looked in danger of losing against the Canaries.
Substitute Mario Balotelli netted the fourth with a cheeky flick of the shoulder from point-blank range.
He is a cool customer and nothing fazes him at all. While most people are focused on the two Manchester clubs, Tottenham should not be overlooked: they are on a fabulous run at the moment.
I am glad we played them at the beginning of the season, when they were unsettled by the Luka Modric saga — I don’t think we would replicate our 5-1 triumph at White Hart Lane now.
We entertain Bayern Munich tomorrow in the final UEFA Champions League group game.
Unfortunately, our destiny is out of our hands as we must beat the German giants and hope Villarreal take something off Napoli.
