Don’t blame me for Tevez - Mancini

Date published: 31 January 2012

City manager Roberto Mancini has no idea why the blame for all Carlos Tevez's problems has been laid at his door.

With Tevez likely to remain at City beyond tonight's transfer deadline, a repair job could be required to patch up the South American's differences with his manager.

Yet, until Friday, when Tevez's long–time advisor Kia Joorabchian outlined the fact his client had always felt uneasy about Mancini, the City boss did not think there were any problems beyond their fall–out in Munich.

"I don't know why they are suggesting this," said Mancini, of the image that is being portrayed about his relationship with Tevez.

"I have always had a good relationship with him."

City are without three key players for tonight’s trip to Everton.

Mario Balotelli is suspended while Yaya and Kolo Toure are still on African Nations Cup duty with the Ivory Coast. But Vincent Kompany is back after his four-match ban.

CITY defender Wayne Bridge was on his way to Wearside today as he closed in on a loan move to Sunderland.
The 31–year–old former England international was reportedly due to undergo a medical as Black Cats boss Martin O'Neill attempted to bolster his injury–hit squad on the final day of the January transfer window.

O'Neill moved for the hugely experienced left–back after his defensive resources were further stretched by the loss of Wes Brown to a suspected medial ligament injury at the weekend.

Tonight’s Premier League fixtures (7.45pm unless stated): Swansea v Chelsea; Tottenham v Wigan; Wolves v Liverpool; Everton v Manchester City (8pm); Manchester United v Stoke (8pm).
