Thunder earn away victory

NORTHERN Thunder enjoyed a 59-27 win at Hertfordshire Mavericks in the FIAT Netball Superleague.
The visitors made a strong start as a defence of Kerry Almond, Emma Dovey and Laura Malcolm shut out the opposition, and Thunder ended the first quarter 23-9 up.
Rachel Henry entered the fray in the second period and linked well with goal attack Janelle Lawson, and her side were 33-16 up at half-time. The third quarter saw Kathryn Turner introduced at wing attack, while centre Sara Bayman impressed in the middle, picking up countless turnovers and starting many attacking moves.
