A SUPERB team effort inspired Manchester City to the all-important 2-0 victory at Newcastle and now we find ourselves one win away from clinching our first Barclays Premier League title.

Yaya Toure is a huge part of what we are trying to achieve and he came up with the goods yet again with two goals at the Sports Direct Arena.

He is the man for the big occasion — we already knew that after last season’s heroics in the FA Cup semi-final and then the winner in the final.

Both goals were a perfect example of technique and skill.

We are level on points with United but have a far superior goal difference, so barring a miracle, three points will secure top spot and our first top flight title in 44 years.

QPR are our opponents at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday and they come with plenty of familiar faces — Nedum Onouha, Joey Barton, Shaun Wright-Phillips and former manager Mark Hughes.

Everyone was buzzing after the Newcastle game, just as they were following the derby win a few days earlier, and the focus is on finishing the job now because after putting ourselves in such a good position, it would be a crying shame not to see it through.

Fingers crossed!
