Rugby Union: TEENAGE talent George Ford is in the England Saxons squad for the first time.

The Leicester Tigers fly-half gets his chance to impress alongside Sale Sharks back Rob Miller — last season’s Aviva Premiership top try–scorer — Wasps wing Christian Wade, Bath prop Nathan Catt and Worcester flanker Matt Kvesic.

Ford, who played junior rugby league in Oldham, is among 32 players hoping to make their mark.

Ford, son of former Oldham RL player and coach Mike, enjoyed a great season at Leicester in 2011-12, playing a starring role for the Tigers in the Premiership semi-final defeat of Saracens

He was named International Rugby Board young player of the year in 2011.
