On a high in the Alps

City’s kit boss and former Latics star on City’s Austrian trip
SUNSHINE and thunderstorms have been the backdrop to Manchester City’s stay in Austria so far but it is a beautiful place.
Though this is pre-season there has still been plenty to keep me busy — the players are training twice a day.
None of the lads involved in Euro 2012 are with us as they enjoy a well-earned breather.
We are here until July 20 and there are matches to look forward to — we face Al Hilal tomorrow, followed by Dynamo Dresden on Tuesday and Besiktas next Friday.
The players will sport our new home kit in two of the fixtures, and the away kit in the other.
We are all enjoying our stay even though the mixed weather makes for an unusual feeling — you never know whether it’s going to be dramatic storms or a nice bit of sun!
But I can’t complain. We are in the Alps and unlike European trips during the season, which are so hectic you never get a chance to explore a place, this is different.
The local area is fantastic and it is a pleasure to be out here.
We come home for three days and then it’s back on the plane again, this time for a six-day tour of China and Malaysia. Never a dull moment!
