DAVIS Love has named his four wild card picks for the Ryder Cup – and bookies immediately gave the US captain’s choices the thumbs-up.

Two of the picks – Steve Stricker and Dustin Johnson – are among the favourites at 7-1 and 10-1 respectively to be top home points scorer at Medinah later this month.

The other two, Jim Furyk and Brandt Snedeker, join a powerful US team which contains the likes of Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson so it is no surprise that the Yanks, with home advantage, are 4-5 favourites to win back the cup.

Europe are 6-4 to win the three-day match, with a tie rated a 10-1 shot.

ANDY Murray takes on Marin Cilic in a bid to reach yet another grand slam semi-final tonight.

The Briton is 1-10 to triumph and 7-2 to win the whole shebang.

Assuming he beats Cilic, Murray can look forward to a semi-final against Roger Federer, who should come through his quarter-final against Tomas Berdych without too much fuss.

ENGLAND’S footballers begin their World Cup campaign on Friday night with a televised clash in Moldova.

Despite injuries, Roy Hodgson’s men are 1-4 to triumph, with the hosts on 11-1 and a draw rated a 9-2 shot.
