City aiming to rule Britannia

The City kit boss and former Latics star writes every week for Chron Sport
THE training ground has been quiet this week, with the vast majority of Manchester City’s players involved in various international matches.
A host of our lads were taking part in World Cup 2014 qualifiers at the start of the long road to Rio.
A handful of familiar faces have been present, with the likes of Micah Richards and Gareth Barry still working their way back to full fitness.
On Saturday we face a tough test at Stoke City, who give everyone an uncomfortable time at the Britannia Stadium.
It remains to be seen whether striker Michael Owen will be given his debut by our hosts — he joined the club on a free transfer following his release from Manchester United.
Peter Crouch is likely to lead the line for Stoke, and I am sure everyone remembers the world class goal he scored against us last season.
Tuesday sees us head overseas — we play Real Madrid in the first Champions League group stage match.
I am looking forward to my first ever visit to the famous old stadium.
With the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo on show we are in for a stern test of our European credentials, but I am sure all the City players are relishing the challenge.
