Mancini ready to ring changes for Villa clash
Date published: 25 September 2012
MANCHESTER City boss Roberto Mancini will make wholesale changes for his side's Capital One Cup clash with Aston Villa tonight and admits the competition is well down his list of priorities.
The Italian would like to select an entirely different team to the one that drew 1–1 with Arsenal in the Barclays Premier League on Sunday.
The League Cup is the one domestic silverware Mancini has not won since taking over as City boss in 2009, with his best run coming last season when they lost to Liverpool in the semi–finals.
The Italian added: "If we win also the Capital One Cup, then okay, but the target should be the championship again."
Mancini will include youngsters Denis Suarez, Abdul Razaq and former Athletic loanee Luca Scapuzzi in the squad, but will be without injured players, James Milner, Maicon, Samir Nasri and Micah Richards.
