A FRUSTRATED Roberto Mancini admitted his Manchester City side weren’t good enough following a shock 4-2 defeat at home to Aston Villa in the Capital One Cup last night.
City twice threw away a lead given them by Mario Balotelli and then Aleksandar Kolarov — after Villa old boy Gareth Barry’s own goal had got the visitors back in it.
Gabriel Agbonlahor took the tie to extra time and added a second late on after Charles N’Zogbia had put Villa ahead.
“We didn’t play well and we had some unlucky moments, but I think they deserved to go through,” said Mancini afterwards.
Mancini exchanged heated words with Villa counterpart Paul Lambert in the second half complaining to the fourth official about a tackle by Joe Bennett on Barry.
