SPORTS BETTING: THE Ryder Cup showed us many things, not least that Jim Furyk’s nerve at this level has gone and Keegan Bradley is an intensely irritating character, but one destined to win more majors.

The final day action also underlined Europe’s ability to get the job done, so it is no surprise to see them installed 10-11 favourites to win the next shindig at Gleneagles in 2014. The Yanks are 5-4 and a tie is 10-1.

ATHLETIC fans can breathe a sign of relief – the bookies reckon your beloved club won’t be relegated after all.
A couple of weeks ago, the Latics were only 6-4 to fall through the League One trapdoor.

City are 17-10 to retain their crown, with United 9-4, leaders Chelsea 3-1 and Arsenal 12-1. It’s 50-1 bar, which brings in Tottenham.

I thought she was in this for the comedy element, but it seems not, even though the bookies make her a 16-1 shot to lift the glitter ball with dance partner Robin Windsor.

Olympic gymnast Louis Smith is the 9-4 favourite at this early stage, with Kimberley Walsh and Denise van Outen showing up well for the girls on 7-2.
