Dzeko deserves credit

EDIN Dzeko demonstrated how underrated he is by scoring two crucial goals in Manchester City’s 2-1 win at West Brom.
He climbed off the substitutes’ bench to net twice in the final 10 minutes and secure three points - despite our being a man down following James Milner’s first-half dismissal.
Edin doesn’t get enough credit: he has natural goalscoring instinct, in the same vein as Robbie Fowler or Michael Owen. He can sniff out a goal at vital times.
At the Hawthorns, his headed equaliser was excellent and the winner was a sublime finish, taken first time following Sergio Aguero’s pinpoint pass.
Despite the numerical disadvantage, I never felt we were going to lose the game, even when we went behind to Shane Long’s 67th-minute effort.
We continued to pepper their goal and got our reward late on — we seem to like leaving it late at times!
I thought the red card was harsh. I could see why Mark Clattenburg dismissed James, but with Joleon Lescott so close to him in the chase for the ball, I could also see an argument for just brandishing a yellow.
I AM delighted to see my former team Athletic performing so well in npower League One.
The 2-0 victory over Leyton Orient extended the unbeaten run to four matches, three of which were wins. Boss Paul Dickov has got the lads buzzing and hopefully Latics can keep their run going at Carlisle tonight.
