Buttner ready to seize chance

Stamford Bridge will again be the focus of attention tonight as Manchester United and Chelsea meet in a repeat of Sunday's stormy encounter.

The dust may still be some way from settling on United's dramatic and controversial 3–2 win in the Barclays Premier League but, by chance, the sides must now face each other in the fourth round of the Capital One Cup.

The players involved may be different – with both clubs having fielded a number of fringe players in the previous round – but it remains to be seen whether that prevents needle from the weekend spilling over.

Chelsea were left seething when they had two men sent off and Javier Hernandez struck United's winner while offside.

The dismissal of Fernando Torres after a second yellow card for diving was particularly contentious and referee Mark Clattenburg has since been accused by Chelsea of using inappropriate language.

United boss Sir Alex Ferguson intends to rotate his squad.

The 2–1 victory over Newcastle in round three saw the likes of Michael Keane, Marnick Vermijl and Scott Wootton given starts.

New signing Alexander Buttner also began that game and the Dutchman will hope for another chance having also featured in the Champions League against Braga.

The 23–year–old left–back joined United from Vitesse Arnhem to provide competition for Patrice Evra.
