Lawson agrees new Thunder deal

REIGNING Fiat Netball Superleague champions Manchester Thunder have signed top-class shooter Janelle Lawson for a second year.
The 6ft 4in all-action goal attack, from Perth, Western Australia, helped Thunder to their first national title since the superleague started in 2005.
Lawson, a former Australian under-21s player, had a strike rate of more than 85-per-cent in 2012, and in two matches, she had a 100-per-cent shots success.
Thunder director Debbie Hallas said: “It’s brilliant that we’ve managed to keep Janelle in the squad for a second year and there’s no doubt her shooting stats helped us to some important victories.”
Janelle said: “I had a great experience playing for Thunder in the Superleague, topped off by winning the Grand Final to go with our Fastnet Trophy.
“I made some great friends here who made me feel very welcome, and it made my decision to come back so easy.”
The 2013 campaign starts in February.
