United just need to keep winning

SIR Alex Ferguson has admitted his Manchester United side needs to grind out results during the current congested phase of the season.

United head to Reading tomorrow night, having maintained their place at the top thanks to their 1–0 win over West Ham.

With the Manchester derby and a packed festive programme coming up, Ferguson accepts it is purely about picking up points just now.

"It is the time of the year when you grind out results ," he said.
