Lancashire upbeat despite £1.5m loss
Date published: 16 April 2013
LANCASHIRE Cricket Club has announced an operating loss of more than £1.5million for 2012 — but expects the financial position to improve this season.
The figure at least heads in the right direction: the 2011 accounts showed a record loss of £3.96m.
Lancashire have been hit by the cost of the long–term redevelopment at Old Trafford and the resultant reduction in Test cricket there.
Major works are due to end next month; Lancashire’s reward, from August 1–5, is its first Ashes Test since 2005.
